Used heavily in industry, and its very consistent cross-platform.

Cross-platform is a bad choice of words when there is no GNULinux version available.

Continue this thread level 1 4 points 3 years ago I use LTspice very often for university, and while I havent found any major differences between the Mac and Windows versions, the shortcuts take a while to get use to.

Also they use the function keys, so if you have one of those new MacBooks with the touch bar Id be weary of how annoying it might get level 1 4 points 3 years ago Make sure you have Homebrew installed - it opens up most of the Linux software catalogue for use on your Mac, which no doubt includes some simulation tools (I use it for Icarus Verizon and GtkWave myself).

It couldve (and most likely) had something to do with my lack of knowledge of how to use the program properly, either that or something didnt translate right when one crossed it to macs.

Ive only done the coursework for an Electrical Associate, and am switching to IT.

I suggest taking the boot camp route to run Windows or get Virtual Box ( If youre at a big university theyll typically have a Microsoft university program where you can get a Windows license for free or very cheap.

Reminiscing--) Back when I was in school, I had a Power Computing Power Center Pro mac running Mac OS 7.6.1-Mac OS 8.

I used Connectixs (Purchased later by Sony then Microsoft -- Virtual PC) RealDOS emulator to run Windows 95 and PSpice.

One thing that bit me when using Mathematica (2.0 or 3.0) was the file formats were slightly different and sometimes things didnt work cross platform between Windows and Mac.

You could also run a light version of Linux from a USB drive and install LTSpice on it.
